“Probing Quantum Entanglement in Higgs Boson Decays at the LHC”

Quantum entanglement, a fundamental feature of quantum mechanics, has emerged as a powerful tool in various areas of physics. This talk explores the application of quantum information techniques to high-energy particle physics, specifically in Higgs boson decays at the LHC. We present our methodology for reconstructing the spin density matrix of the ZZ* system in H → ZZ* → 4l decays using quantum tomography techniques on Monte Carlo simulated data. We discuss how we evaluate entanglement measures using this density matrix and the challenges involved in applying quantum information concepts at TeV energies. Our research aims to provide new insights into the quantum nature of Higgs boson interactions and potentially uncover new physics, bridging the gap between quantum information theory and particle physics.
