“Measurement of Higgs Couplings and Properties Using the tau-tau Final State at ATLAS”
The Higgs boson, a particle best described by the Standard Model, was discovered in 2012 by the ATLAS and CMS experiments. Since its discovery, the properties of the Higgs boson have been scrutinized as a test of the compatibility of the discovered boson and the Standard Model prediction. This program includes measurements and searches of Higgs boson couplings to the charged leptonic sector, where the couplings to taus dominate. This talk will cover two key measurements involving the Higgs decay to tau leptons. The first is a completed measurement of the Higgs production via the tau-tau final state, with a focus on its interpretation within the Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT) framework. The second is an ongoing measurement of the CP property of the Higgs to tau-tau decay vertex.
