Microcontrollers for Research Instrumentation

Event time:
Monday, March 2, 2020 - 2:00pm to 3:00pm
Location:
Wright Lab (WNSL), 216 See map

Event description:

This ninety minute hands-on workshop is for those who would like to get started with using microcontrollers for their instrumentation needs. Advances in programming environments have made using microcontrollers easier than ever, and their cost is hard to beat. We will cover basic design, communication between sensors, and how to store data in a database. By the end of the workshop, you will have learned that including microcontrollers in your project can be an inexpensive and surprisingly robust way to collect data and control systems in many circumstances.

You must bring your own laptop computer, and while it will be assumed that you have some programming knowledge and familiarity with basic circuits, no microcontroller experience is necessary.
Registration will be limited to the first 15 respondents. You will receive a confirmation email with additional instructions if you are one of those 15, otherwise you will be placed in a waitlist. If you register, but can not attend, let me know so that I may offer your place to someone else.
