The Yale Center for Astronomy and Astrophysics (YCAA) was established in July 2001 as a joint venture of the Physics and Astronomy Departments of Yale University. Yale is a partner in the WIYN telescope on Kitt Peak, Arizona, the Keck telescope on Mauna Kea in Hawaii, and the SMARTS telescopes in Chile. Yale faculty are also involved in the NuSTAR x-ray satellite (launched 2012 June) and the Japan Astro-H x-ray satellte.
